Steven Lee West is an artist, who involves himself in posters, environmental art, and video. Mr. West recently returned from a trip to Eastern Europe. While in Chisinau, Moldova he participated as a panelist and lecturer in the first symposium on contemporary art, "Open Works". Moldova held its exhibition "6 Kilometres", the first exhibition of contemporary art in that country. While there he had the opportunity to visit Bucharest, Romania and see the exhibition "Experimentation". The posters produced where placed on the streets of New York City and Venice, Italy. The environments are constructed of furniture and walls, exploring the architectural ideas presented by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the dilemmas posed by those philosophies. A video piece title "The Silent Cartridge", about the massacre of El Mozote, a village in El Salvador. The cartridge used in the execution of the village was produced in Lake City, Missouri. The story is about the families who produced the cartridge and its eventuality.
